Five years ago, Maxine wondered what the future would hold.
After her two children had grown up and moved away, Maxinefound herself living alone. The quiet days became lonely ones, and she worriedabout growing older without the companionship and support she needed.
Then she found Bob Hope Village.
"Oh my gosh, it was like night and day," Maxinesays with a big smile. Today, her days are filled with friendship, laughter,and a true sense of belonging.
"There is a beehive of beautiful people here," shesays. "We are all understanding of each other. We also take up for eachother. I was here for two months before I ever had to make a meal!"
One of Maxine's greatest joys is playing the upright basswith the Bob Hope Village Jammers, a group of talented resident musicians whoenjoy making music together. The band has given her another way to connect withfriends, share her love of music, and stay active in the vibrant community shenow calls home.
