The Mom Rule

What Guides
Our Community

Because the Air Force Enlisted Village was founded and continues to be run by leaders connected to the Air Force, we have a proud history of doing things “the right way,” with a sense of mission and service to our residents and our community.

In 2000, our former President and CEO, CMSAF #9 James C. Binnicker, formally instituted a philosophy known as “The Mom Rule” to ensure all residents are treated with respect and dignity.

The success of our commitment is in our
Mom Rule

“The Mom Rule” guides all Air Force Enlisted Village employees to ask themselves these three questions when working with residents or making decisions about a resident’s care. When residents join our community, they can feel confident they will receive the same care and consideration all of us would show for our own mothers.

1. Would I do this to my mom?
